Buncombe and Rutherford County Teen Court:
Youth volunteers must be between the ages of 13-18 and must maintain a C average in school. All general youth volunteers are expected to complete a volunteer application, be given the basic volunteer orientation manual, and observe at least one Teen Court hearing before becoming an official volunteer. All youth volunteers must adhere to a dress code and agree to treat each hearing with complete confidentiality.

Adult volunteers are recruited as judges and as additional help during Teen Court hearings. All adult volunteers must fill out a volunteer application, have a background check, and fill out a confidentiality and conflict of interest agreement.
